There is just something about the sound of the waves, the gentle rocking of a boat, and splendid natural scenery that evokes instantaneous feelings of relaxation.

There is just something about the sound of the waves, the gentle rocking of a boat, and splendid natural scenery that evokes instantaneous feelings of relaxation. Studies have shown that boating is at the top of the list when it comes to outdoor stress-reducing activities, leading to a healthier lifestyle.

Don’t just take my word for it though, find a boat-loving friend or family member and experience it for yourself. In the meantime, here are five boating photos that just might help reduce your blood pressure… or at least bring a big smile to your face.

  1. Josh Loree was on board his boat in Oklahoma when he snapped this shot of his daughter and a friend wading in Lake Eufaula at sunset.

  2. Lady angler Rosemary White couldn't resist capturing a photo of her two sons, grinning from ear-to-ear, after a successful day of fishing and boating. Boating and fishing smiles are contagious, be sure to spread 'em!

  3. This is one of my personal favorite boating photos. Taken just after sunrise while inshore fishing near the stilt houses off of Captiva Island, Florida. Special credit goes to George Kamper Photography.

  4. No matter how many fish may or may not have been biting, when you see a sunset like this over your trolling motor, it always makes the trip worth the time. This is another great shot from Josh Loree that was taken on Lake Carl Blackwell in Oklahoma.

  5. It's hard to beat a day of boating and fishing with your family when you just want to wind down after a long week. And, if you are lucky enough to score a triple redfish hook up with your dad and brother in the process, all the better according to Captain Brad Jones.
