Plan a fishing and camping adventure for every season. Here are some of the best states for fishing and camping spots.

Summer is a great time to plan a fishing and camping adventure, but there are many states that have great camping during other seasons of the year. Here are some of the best states for fishing and camping spots.

Missouri - Summer

This state has diverse landscapes and winding rivers, lakes, springs, and streams. There are over fifty state parks, 1,000 miles of trails, and over 3,500 campsites. For fishing and camping in Missouri, find a campground along the Lake of the Ozarks which has 1,150 miles of shoreline and hosts countless fish species like largemouth bass, catfish, and walleye.

Colorado - Summer

Colorado is a prominent fly fishing destination with beautiful streams and lakes set among mountains and rolling forests. There are four national parks and forty-two state parks which means there are endless fishing and camping opportunities that await! If new to camping, start with a summer trip and bring a fly rod.

Florida - Fall/Winter

The Sunshine State is known for its abundant sunshine and hot summers, but the mild winters offer a beautiful, popular time of year for camping in the state. If looking for a tropical and historic experience, check out Dry Tortugas National Park off the tip of the Florida Keys. There are opportunities for catching many saltwater game fish in the pristine waters that surround the park.

California - Spring

The beautiful state of California has over 110 state parks with many camping options along the Pacific coastline. From beaches among mountains to redwood forests, you can’t go wrong in finding fishing and camping spots among this state’s majestic scenery.
