When it comes time to make a decision about where to fish with your family on Lake Houston, consider these locations.

1. Alexander Deussen Park

Located just 15 miles northeast of downtown Houston, Alexander Deussen Park is a place where families can enjoy a relaxing Lake Houston fishing experience. There are playgrounds, picnic areas, and a buffalo exhibit that can help keep the kids entertained after a few hours of catching crappie or catfish from the pier. There is also a public ramp that is available for use at no charge if you'd prefer to explore Lake Houston by boat.

2. Lake Houston Marina

Lake Houston Marina is one of the best Lake Houston fishing spots for families in Huffman, Texas. The marina offers RV campsites, pier and bank fishing areas, picnic pavilions, and a boat launch -- all within a 28-mile drive from Houston. If you want to spend a day or weekend fishing for largemouth bass, crappie, and blue catfish with the kids, Lake Houston Marina is another good option.

3. BJ's Marina

If you want to take the family crappie fishing on Lake Houston, BJ's Marina is one of the best spots to do it. The marina's location at the East Fork San Jacinto and Lake Houston merger is close to prime crappie territory. In fact, the marina often serves as a primary base for local crappie fishing clubs and tournaments. The marina has bank and pier fishing access, tent camping for overnight fishing trips, a boat ramp, and a well-stocked bait shop.
