A fantastic way to beat the winter blues when you can’t be on the water is to visit a boat show. Many boat shows are timed during this off season and if you are on the west coast January 31 through February 8, you may want to visit the Seattle Boat Show 2025.

If considering a family visit to the Seattle Boat Show, a video on their website shows Seattle Boat Show kids’ workshops and activities among the 300 exhibitors. Seattle Boat Show educational seminars for families are possible too, with 126 seminars to choose from. Some seminars apply to adult boaters such as anchoring, mechanical tips, and boat care, while other topics might be of interest for younger audiences such as sea sickness management tips and fishing tips for halibut, salmon, or even squid.

Another feature that may be of interest for a family visit to the Seattle Boat Show is well, the boats. The Seattle Boat Show 2025 website touts 800 boats on site. Kids will enjoy climbing aboard everything from small, powered watercrafts to jon boats, pontoon boats, and yachts and pretending to ride the waves, fish, or captain the “ship.”

Not only are there obviously boats for sale, but there are other interesting vendors too like where to put your new boat such as various lifts, docks, and marinas. There are books on tides and shellfish, float plane travel information, and even displays on education, banking, and mattresses. Another noteworthy exhibit that one can visit explains the rules about what to do if you are boating around killer whales. For example, boat speed should be under 7 km/hr if closer than ½ mile and completely disengaged if within 300 yards. They also explain how to report violations, display flags designating that whales are in the area, and the rule differences between Washington and Canadian waters.

Seattle Boat Show Tickets are reasonably priced at $20 or, if you want to keep options available for multiple return trips, a $40 ticket will get you in the show all nine days, with children 17 and under, always free. Seattle Boat Show Events occur both at the Lumen Field Event Center and Bell Harbor Marina with free shuttles between and to local hotels. Check the Seattle Boat Show 2025 website for the Seattle Boat Show Schedule of event, seminars, and the latest updates information.
