RBFF’s Get On Board Campaign Wins 2022 National Boating Industry Safety Award
The integrated marketing campaign features safe boating content and consistent life jacket use
Get On Board, the consumer marketing campaign from the Recreational Boating & Fishing Foundation’s Take Me Fishing™ brand and its long-time agency partner Colle McVoy, recently won a National Boating Industry Safety Awards in the category of Top Marine Marketing and Boating Safety Outreach Award. The awards from the Sea Tow Foundation in conjunction with their Boating Safety Advisory Council recognize efforts to promote safety on the water within the boating industry.
The year-round, fully integrated marketing campaign encouraged Americans to get on the water and experience the joys and wellness benefits of recreational boating and fishing. The campaign’s imagery included proper life jacket usage, and educational content including blogs, social media posts and videos on Take Me Fishing’s YouTube channel promoted responsible boating practice. From July 2021 through June 2022, the campaign drove nearly 400,000 views to TakeMeFishing.org boating safety pages. Original creative on a joint PSA video was also produced in partnership with Discover Boating, powered by the National Marine Manufacturers Association and the Marine Retailers Association of the Americas.
“As we encourage Americans to join us on the water, it’s essential to highlight the importance of safety practices,” said Rachel Piacenza, RBFF’s Director of Marketing. “We’re honored that the Sea Tow Foundation has recognized RBFF’s efforts to promote safe boating participation to new and experienced anglers and boaters alike."
The award was initially set to be presented at the Soundings Trade Only Most Innovative Company Awards at IBEX 2022 in Tampa, Florida before Hurricane Ian forced its cancellation.
