Ten Programs in Seven States Awarded Funds to Bring Fishing and Boating to Hispanic Families
The Recreational Boating & Fishing Foundation (RBFF) announced the 2025 grantees for its George H.W. Bush Vamos A Pescar™ Education Fund—funding 10 programs in 7 states to bring fishing and boating experiences and conservation education to Hispanic families. This year the Education Fund is awarding more than $70,400 in grants, with state agencies matching that amount bringing total funding to approximately $141,000 for the 2025 grantees.
“Participation in fishing among Hispanics has nearly doubled over the past decade—growing from 3.5 million in 2013 to 6.3 million in 2023,” said RBFF President & CEO Dave Chanda. “Given this growth, we are excited to partner with this year’s grantees to further promote fishing and boating participation and provide guidance on conservation practices, ensuring families can enjoy these activities safely.”
George H.W. Bush Vamos A Pescar™ Education Fund is in its tenth year of operation. Since the Education Fund was launched in 2014, more than $1.3 million has been granted to local organizations across the U.S., improving access to fishing, boating, and conservation education.
