RBFF was recognized with a Superior Achievement in Branding, Reputation and Engagement (SABRE) Award at the SABRE North America Awards Ceremony in New York City on May 1. Awarded annually by The Holmes Report, the SABRE Awards recognize campaigns that demonstrate the highest levels of strategic planning, creativity and business results, and are considered among the elite communications awards.
We are honored to have received the Marketing to Youth award for our #FirstCatch campaign, which sought to inspire a new generation of anglers to participate in fishing and boating. The integrated, multi–channel campaign offered families the opportunity to experience and share the thrill of their first ever tug on the line, and in turn tell their stories to families just like them. The campaign encompassed our list of Top Family-Friendly Places to Boat and Fish, a celebrity appearance at a #FirstCatch fishing clinic from Houston Astros shortstop Carlos Correa, and digital and event executions for National Fishing and Boating Week.
The #FirstCatch campaign was featured in USA Today, MLB.com, Southern Living, Food & Wine and The Associated Press, among others. But not just the news media took notice - families were also inspired by what they saw. The year–long campaign drove an overall increase in fishing participation for the second year in a row, in particular inspiring families to introduce their kids to the joys of being out on the water and creating lifelong anglers and boaters.
