Trailer your boat just an hour southwest of Seattle to a great smallmouth bass fishing spot on American Lake or enjoy the Pacific Northwest scenery as you cast for steelhead trout on Lake Chelan. When you go fishing and boating in Washington, you will need to purchase either a freshwater fishing license or saltwater fishing license depending on where you plan to fish.
Washington has more than 3,000 miles of coastline, a great number of glacier-fed rivers, amazing freshwater lakes and scenic reservoirs. You can even go whale watching in the San Juan Islands, the second-largest and most populous of the Islands in northwestern Washington.
There are a variety of fishing techniques you can practice in this beautiful state. Saltwater pier and surf fishing are two of the most common types of fishing for beginning anglers. For inshore fishing enthusiasts, you can also enjoy Ice fishing during the winter months and Fly fishing in the beautiful lakes and reservoirs.
