This course meets the NYS and US Coast Guard requirements for PWC Operation, Adult and Youth Boating Certification. Upon successful completion, you will have met the requirements and can operate a PWC/Jetski or as a youth boater operate a vessel without Adult Supervision . You will receive a certificate upon successful completion of this course- certificate received same day as class.
The certificate you earn for completing this class allows ANYONE over the age of 14 to operate a PWC/Jet Ski in NY waters. It also allows anyone between 10 and 18 to operate a boat in NY without being accompanied by an adult; it also allows anyone over 10 to operate a boat in NJ waters (required for ALL boaters regardless of age).
The course is designed as a comprehensive boating course, teaching the fundamentals of safe boating operation. This 8 hour course is given over 3 nights. It is presented and instructed by the volunteers of the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary, Our instructors are qualified by the USCG Aux. and represent thousands of hours of on water experience. Current classes in the Islip, South Shore Area are;
in March (3,13,20), April(4,17&5/1) and a one full day session May 12.

It is required in the state of New York for anyone operating a PWC (jet ski) to have completed a approved Boating Safety Class. As well anyone from 10 yrs to 18 yrs of age may operate a boat with adult supervision only if they have completed a safe boating course.
