Are you eager to try fishing for smallmouth bass on the Delaware River from Bull’s Island State Park or are you interested in heading over to the Spruce Run Reservoir to catch a striped bass? Either way, you will need to have a valid New Jersey fishing license and knowledge of state fishing regulations before you make the trip.
Fishing licenses can be purchased online from the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection’s Division of Fish & Wildlife or from approved license vendors that sell hunting and fishing equipment.
Once you have your valid NJ fishing license, you will need to read and understand the state fishing regulations. Be sure you can properly identify all of the New Jersey fish species, then follow all of the fishing rules that apply.
