You may have heard that you need to get a Kentucky boat license online by passing a state-approved boater education course, but you may need a Kentucky Boater Education Certificate or Boater Education Card instead. Before you take your boat out for the first time, make sure you know the boat operation safety procedures and boating laws that apply.
Nothing beats a day of boating when it comes to relaxation, fun and family time. However, as a boat owner, you are responsible for the safety of your passengers and other boaters on the waterways. Know the Kentucky boating laws or rules of the road prior to your first trip, and check the federal boating laws to be sure you have the required safety equipment on board.
In addition to knowledge about boat operation safety and Kentucky boat license online requirements, you will have to register your boat. Boat registration fees help fund the maintenance of state waterways and are determined by the length of your boat.
Kentucky has its own set of boating rules to protect the waterways and keep everyone who uses them safe.
