Take Me Fishing creates seasonal buzz around ice fishing andthe World Ice Fishing Championship
This winter, RBFF's Take Me Fishing campaign took on the world of ice fishing, expanding its offerings on TakeMeFishing.org to include engaging new ice fishing content.
Working with the USA Ice Fishing Team and state agency partners, Michigan Department of Natural Resources, Minnesota Department of Natural Resources, and Ohio Department of Natural Resources, RBFF developed an ice fishing campaign focused on inspiring anglers to get outside and try this unique winter sport.
TakeMeFishing.org now houses ice fishing know-how and tips, from videos on the best rods and reels, to blog posts about glow-in-the-dark lures. Expert tips from the USA Ice Team, information on where on the lake to carve the best hole, how to instructions for tip-ups, and safety information is included as well. Additionally, RBFF supported the USA Ice Fishing Team during the February 16-17th World Ice Fishing Tournament in Wausau, WI,garnering local and national media attention for the event and ice fishing.
In less than a month, the ice fishing pages of TakeMeFishing.org had more than 19,000 unique visitors and the How-To videos on YouTube had almost 10,000 views. TakeMeFishing.org's Facebook page was also active with conversation, generating more than 26,500 engaged users on ice fishing posts alone. Local and national publications picked up the information as well, with more than 680 placements and 191 million impressions.
The new ice fishing content is helping RBFF/Take Me Fishing increase and sustain interest in fishing through the off season.
"This year, we are focusing on growing our resources to help more individuals enjoy a day on the water," said RBFF President and CEO, Frank Peterson. "Fresh new content on a website helps drive new and repeat traffic. We plan to continue to bring new content to consumers from topics like kayak fishing, and fishing from small watercraft or how to convert your boat into a fishing machine."
