Take Me Fishing 'This is a Test' PSA

Did you know protecting the environment is as easy as getting outdoors and casting a line? That’s right! Each recreational fishing license and boat registration purchased in the United States generates funds to protect and conserve our nation’s waterways. These fun, family-oriented outdoor activities are the only sports where the simple act of participating actually contributes to the continued health and beauty of our nation’s aquatic natural resources.

In 2014, 46 million Americans participated in fishing, and 87.3 million participated in boating. Our Take Me Fishing™ campaign reminds people that fishing and boating are great ways to disconnect and spend time with their families. It also reminds them about the importance of purchasing their fishing license and/or boat registration before they hit the water.

TV, Radio and Print PSA spots are available in a variety of lengths and sizes, each with a different twist to suit your audience:

  • This is a Test is a funny, retro-style PSA that always gets a laugh, and prompts us to purchase a license and/or registration if we’re going fishing and boating.
  • Protecting Memories reminds us that fishing and boating are things to do with your family, making memories, while protecting the nation’s resources for generations to come.
  • Fish and Protect, a Spanish language spot, talks about the joy of disconnecting from our hectic lives and spending time with family outdoors.

Over the past few years, fishing license sales have risen steadily, which translates to millions of dollars being funneled back to state fish and wildlife agencies for fishery and hatchery management, habitat development and protection, endangered species programs, fishing and conservation education, and fishing and boating access facilities such as docks and ramps.

Thank you in advance for your support of our mission and for your help in getting Americans back outdoors to enjoy our waterways. If you have any questions, please contact Rachel Auslander at 703-519-9565 or rauslander@rbff.org.
